The title is of course a non-existent word with reminiscences of disharmony and dissonants and the identity of things when isolated from their context.
STAMMER grew out of the fascination with sound. Instead of subordinating sound to harmony and melody, pure sound is treated as an extraordinary way of expression. Using synthesizers and computer programs to explore and catch 'found' sounds, serendipity plays an important role in the creation proces.
STAMMER took off seriously in 1997, when the first cassette was produced. Three privately produced CD's followed in 1997, 1999 and 2002. A fourth CD has just been released (May 2005). STAMMER exposes ideas, music and photography on its own web page (www.stammer.nl)
